People wishing to visit Koh Chang will have to firstly get to the Trat Province. The most convenient method to arrive in Trat is by airplane, with daily flights from Suvarnabhumi Bangkok Airport to Trat Airport. Flights to Trat can also be obtained from Utapao Airport (Pattaya), Phuket, Chiang Mai and Krabi. The extensive Thai bus network is the cheapest form of transport to visit Trat, and also very reliable.
There are a number of ways to reach Koh Chang via Trat. The town of Laem Ngob, which is home to the three piers you can use to reach the island. All the ferries start at 7am in the morning and run every two hours until 6pm in the evening. The ferry price from Laem Ngob to Koh Chang is roughly 30bht.
