Howie's Home Stay, built over seven years, is a luxurious home of traditional Royal Lanna Thai style designed around the historic concept of 7 pavilions and built to Western standards and specifications by renowned designer, Bill Bensley.

Neighboring the world-famous Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, our house is a striking collection of seven residential pavilions tucked away among four acres of verdant tropical gardens, rippling streams and water gardens. A river meanders through, gently reminding us of the slower pace of Thai life here in the rural north. Our residence and your private sanctuary was designed around the breathtaking views of the lush Mae Rim Valley. Green forest and cerulean skies everywhere you look. Inside the residence, Lanna Thai traditions pervade every hand-crafted detail.
Howie's HomeStay is a handcrafted work of art that took eight years to complete. Seven private and unique golden teak pavilions comprise the estate. Most pavilions have vaulted 8-meter golden teak ceilings. Modern technology in each room includes state-of-the-art entertainment and communication systems. Custom crafted bronze details and Jim Thompson silks are used abundantly through out the property. Acclaimed architect Bill Bensley designed the estate to provide the ultimate in luxurious living.
The relaxed yet refined atmosphere complements Northern Thailand's rustic natural beauty with indulgent and modern comforts. Each structure was built with reclaimed and recycled teakwood. Natural light flows through walls of windows. Sloping roofs protect from the sunshine and gentle rain while recalling the splendor of the tranquil and elegant Lanna Thai era. Golden teakwood floors, handcrafted teak furniture and museum quality antiques from across Southeast Asia round out the interior design.
As our guests, we design your stay to include the best local activities or leave you to just relax by the sprawling swimming pool. We'll take you on guided trips via private car and driver to local markets, elephant excursions, guided cultural tours and shopping excursions for home decor, antiques and hill tribe artifacts.
The accommodation consists of the Grand Teak Guest Pavilion and a 3 Bedroom Family Suite Pavilion. You and your group are the only guests at Howie's HomeStay and any other rooms are only for your friends, family or staff.
