About
Baan Sirocco is a beautiful luxury pool villa and you are just five minutes from everything you really need. And yet, as you sit by the pool and gaze over the ocean, it will feel like you are a million miles from everywhere.
Overview
Baan Sirocco is a fabulous four-bedroom; five-bathroom luxury pool villa situated on a gentle hillside in-between Chaweng and Choeng Mon. Its location is ideal; it’s just five minutes from the airport, five minutes to the centre of Chaweng, the main nightlife and shopping centre on the island, and only five minutes to some of the islands very best beaches.
Its proximity to all of these is a major plus and yet the villa is located within a quiet, private estate that offers privacy from neighbours, 24-hour security and a great deal of peace and tranquility.
You will be welcomed by your Villa Manager and her team who are there to take care of you, your family and your friends during your stay with us. And as you drive into the estate you begin to get an idea of the lush, tropical surroundings and the well-kept local environment.
A stunning stone-clad façade, with plenty of off-road parking spaces should you hire a car or motorbikes, is the first aspect of the villa to grace your eyes. But there is so much more inside, especially the view. As you enter through the large wooden doors, coconut trees and shrubbery line the steps down to the upper level of the villa. Here you’ll be greeted by two kneeling statues of Thai dancers in traditional dress, offering a welcoming ‘Wai’ to your villa. To the left and to the right are bedrooms one and two and like all the bedrooms in the villa they offer lots of space, high ceilings, beautiful bathrooms, king-sized beds, floor-to-ceiling wardrobes and cupboards and cool-to-the-touch tiled floors. Each bedroom is also fully air-conditioned, has a wide-screen television and a safe for your valuables.
But your eyes won’t be drawn to these initially; they will gaze towards the large bedroom windows and the sliding doors that lead out onto the upper level terrace – and the stunning view. Directly below is the beach of northern Chaweng and to the right the tiny island of Koh Matlang and the greater expanse of Chaweng beach and its sweeping bay covering more than five kilometres. And the terrace is large enough to host a cocktail party for 40 people, a wedding ceremony and reception for around 20 guests or more intimate dining under-the-stars. And for keen photographers it’s an excellent spot for wonderful panoramic photographs of the beach, the ocean and the mountains surrounding Chaweng.
You will want to linger on the terrace but take the steps down to the next level and the expansive lounge that opens up before you. And through the enormous glass sliding-doors you’ll see the 15 metre by 5 metre private pool and the pool terrace with plenty of sun-loungers for everyone. And this terrace is equally spectacular and perfect for catching the sunrise each morning around 6:00 am. The sun sets behind the villa each evening and lying back in the pool is the perfect place to watch the sun go down behind the mountain tops.
Inside, the lounge is open, airy and has more than enough space for everyone to relax on the very comfortable sofas. Shades of green and splashes of orange and red decorate the furnishings and wall prints. To one side is the Master bedroom which faces the ocean and opens out onto the lower pool terrace. And just behind it is the third bedroom and again both of these mirror the upper level bedrooms in terms of size, space, furniture and fixtures.
Within the lounge area there is also a large dining table for eight and a very well-appointed kitchen with an oven, hob, extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, a double sink unit and all the crockery, cutlery and glassware you could every wish for. There is also a separate Thai cooking kitchen area for your chef to prepare local and regional Thai dishes without the aromas permeating throughout the lounge, though many guests love the delicious bouquet created by the myriad ingredients used in Thai cuisine. On the outside of the kitchen are the steps to the separate staff entrance and down to the storage areas below.
You will feel like spending a great deal of time simply relaxing at Baan Sirocco and enjoying the view, the amenities and the wonderful hospitality. If you do feel like being a little adventurous and driving for more than five minutes it’s not much further to Wat Phra Yai, more commonly known as ‘Big Buddha’. And the beach along this stretch of the coastline curves around the village of Bangrak and onto Fisherman’s Village which is home to more than 50 restaurants and bars, amazing arts, crafts, souvenir shops, clothes retailers and the famous Friday night ‘Walking Street’ market.
From here you are just another 10 minutes from the mountainous interior if the island with its countless valleys and jungle trails. Or you can circumnavigate the island’s ring-road in less than two hours though there are plenty of places of interest along the way and dozens of small coves and quiet beaches waiting to be explored.
